THE STATEMENT - "An Insatiable search for freedom of the spirit in both myself and the world at large has taken me to feminine ageing. I have found that as women age there comes a time when they find nothing to prove, only to be and to live. Using the Passion, Authenticity, Energy, Humour and Hope that is given to me, I paint the Power of Old Ladies and inspire Women to feel good about themselves, with attitude, freedom and Hope in Life. Not seeking to create a biography of these imaginary women that I paint, wish only to feel a relationship with them, through observation and sentiments. It’s in their creation and through this contemplation that I am able to find the strength and attitude with inspiration towards freedom." Maria Seruya
